Maklon Briket / Design ownership and confidentiality

Design ownership and confidentiality

The brand and the pack artwork are yours. To keep it that way, agree on three things in writing before production. This page is not legal advice; have your own counsel review the text.

Three things to put in writing

  • Confidentiality: who may see your artwork and recipe, and for how long.
  • Ownership: who owns the pack artwork, the brand and any custom tooling, and where the tooling goes if the work stops.
  • Use: whether the maker may use the same shape or artwork for anyone else.

How to begin

Send a brief without confidential material first. If you want to share sensitive artwork, ask us for a written confidentiality agreement before you send it.

Before you sign

Ask for the draft agreement early, not when production is about to start. Read the tooling clause closely: who pays for it, who keeps it, and what happens if you move to another maker.
